What Akira Nakai built wasn't just a tuning style: it was a philosophy, a ritual, and a movement that turned the air-cooled 911 into a global icon of underground automotive culture. Each car hand-cut and fitted by Nakai-san himself, every RWB carries a name, a story, and a singular identity that no factory specification can replicate.

This is 'Johor Rough', No. 3 RWB in Malaysia, built in 2015 and among the earliest examples on Malaysian soil. Based on a 1989 964 C4, finished in Speed Yellow, the wide-body presence is immediate and unambiguous. The RWB Super Wide Kit and signature duck tail spoiler are executed in Nakai-san's unmistakable hand, while custom-ordered Forgestar M14 wheels in gunmetal provide the perfect visual anchor beneath the flared arches.

Inside, the original 964 cabin has been preserved where it matters. Retaining its period-correct layout, while electric-powered sport seats, reupholstered in black leather with yellow contrast stitching, bring the interior into alignment with the car's exterior attitude. The door cards follow suit, cohesive and considered without overcooking it.

At 35,000 original miles, the 3.6-litre air-cooled flat-six remains in honest, low-mileage condition. Paired with a 5-speed manual and settled on H&R suspension, the driving experience is exactly what a 964 should be — analogue, tactile, and entirely unfiltered.

'Johor Rough' is not simply a modified Porsche. It is a numbered, named, and documented chapter in Malaysian automotive culture, one of three RWBs that established the movement here before it became widely known. The next custodian inherits not just a car, but a piece of the story.
